About Dr. Frazier

Dr. Frazier is a Harvard-trained, board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon. He’s held an academic appointment at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and New York’s SUNY Downstate. Dr. Frazier is also a respected lecturer, accomplished researcher, published author on spine disorders and treatment and continues to consult for several international spine companies.

After completing undergraduate education at Brown University, Dr. Frazier attended Harvard Medical School, where he graduated cum laude. He completed a Harvard internship based at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA, followed by a Harvard combined residency before becoming chief resident at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Frazier then took a sabbatical and worked on the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico as a general orthopedic surgeon. From there, Dr. Frazier finished two spinal surgery fellowships, one at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a spinal deformity fellowship at Doctor’s Hospital in Miami, Florida. He then moved to New York City and has been practicing here for nearly 20 years. He is a member of the Cervical Spine Research Society, Scoliosis Research Society, Society for Minimally Invasive Surgery and North American Spine Society.

If surgery is the only answer for your pain relief, my minimally invasive techniques will give you the results that you deserve to live a more happy and comfortable life.

— Dr. Daveed Frazier, MD

Orthopedic spine specialist Dr. Frazier currently has an office in New York City and Morristown, New Jersey. He practices at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, New Jersey. As a master in minimally invasive spine surgery, Dr. Frazier performs a substantial number of procedures in outpatient surgery centers. This allows patients to go home the same day as surgery and avoid many of the complications and costs of in-patient hospitalization.

Dr. Frazier’s philosophy is to help patients avoid surgery whenever possible. He uses many noninvasive techniques and works with a variety of nonoperative specialists, including physical therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, neurologists, medical doctors and pain management specialists. Yet, when surgical intervention is needed, a patient can rest assured that they’re in very skilled hands.

For all of his accomplishments and his prevention-focused approach to patient care, Dr. Frazier was recognized by New York Times Magazine as a “New York Super Doctor” on two separate occasions. Admired by patients and clinicians alike, Dr. Frazier continues to set new standards for care in the diagnosis and treatment of spine-related disorders.
